Volunteers a key component of the program
4C Head Start/Early Head Start needs volunteers in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. Volunteers are a key component of our program. There is need for volunteers in many areas:
- Helping in a classroom, reading to children
- Maintaining parent and classroom boards
- Cleaning, painting, and helping with the general repair of the facilities
- Donating funds or items of need for our program
In addition to assisting in the operation of our program, a volunteer’s contribution is assigned a dollar value and counted as a donation.
Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded and community-supported program. The federal government awards community organizations 80 percent of the cost of the program and expects the agency to fund 20 percent from cash or in-kind donations. For examples of in-kind activities, click here
4C Head Start/Early Head Start centers are open or accessible daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Arrangements can be made for weekend volunteer opportunities. A background screening might be required depending on the opportunity and the amount of hours you wish to be involved.
