Milestone Checklists
Developmental milestones are things most children can do by a certain age. Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving “bye bye” are called developmental milestones. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act, and move. Track your child’s milestones and talk with your child’s doctor at every visit. Developmental delays and disabilities often go undetected until a child enters elementary school. Multiple studies have shown that the earlier a delay is recognized and supports offered the better chance a child has of making substantial improvement.
