Family Resources
Here are resources from the Head Start Early Childhood Learning & Knowledge Center:
Understanding STEAM and How Children Use It
STEAM taps into children’s natural creativity and curiosity. STEAM projects encourage students to think critically and outside the box to solve real-world problems. Learn how children from birth to 5 years old engage with science, technology, engineering, arts, and math concepts and materials. Find out how adults can work with children to support learning and development in these areas. To learn more, click here.
Encourage Healthy Eating Habits
Healthy eating is essential to a child’s well-being. Children who are overweight are at risk for chronic health problems. The Weight-control Information Network, a service of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, offers guidance to parents and caregivers on how to encourage healthy eating habits in children.
