4C and Koala Roofing Team Up to Bring Comfort to Children with Custom Koala Build-A-Bears

Community Coordinated Care for Children, Inc. (4C) partnered with Koala Roofing to distribute 500 custom Koala Build-A-Bears to preschool-aged children and families served through 4C’s Head Start and family support programs across Central Florida.
During a special event at 4C’s Head Start Palm Plaza Child Development Center in Osceola County on December 18, 2025, 4C President & CEO Patricia Frank welcomed Koala Roofing CEO Brett Rubin and “Koala Joe,” a 7-foot-tall costumed custom bear/mascot. The celebration featured Koala Joe visiting classrooms, creating lasting memories as children received a new custom Koala Build-A-Bear.

“Many of the children we serve experience uncertainty, stress, or difficult transitions at home,” said Frank. “A custom Koala Build-A-Bear is more than a toy — it’s a source of comfort, stability, and emotional support. We are incredibly grateful to Koala Roofing for helping us provide that sense of security to the children who need it most. We also want to extend our gratitude to our friend, Pete Regules, vice president at CORT, for connecting us.”
Rubin said the donation reflects Koala Roofing’s core mission and family-oriented values. “As a family-owned business rooted in Central Florida, we believe in taking care of the families around us,” Rubin said. “Partnering with 4C allows us to make a meaningful difference, and we are honored to support the children and caregivers who rely on this incredible organization.”
The custom Koala Build-A-Bears will be distributed in the coming weeks to 4C’s most at-risk families, including children experiencing homelessness, those in foster care, or those experiencing other challenges. 4C’s family support teams will incorporate the custom Koala Build-A-Bears into their ongoing work with children to promote emotional well-being and resilience.
