Through the Preschool Development Grant Renewal, the Florida Office of Early Learning (OEL) has announced the following opportunities and stipends for completion of professional development courses offered through the Panhandle Area Education Consortium (PAEC).
These opportunities are available for the following:
- Participants in the Regional Education Laboratory (REL) Professional Development to Support High‐Quality Language Instruction in Early Childhood Classrooms (Universal Strand) for completion of regional language and vocabulary instruction professional development for improved child outcomes. To be eligible for a stipend under REL, the individual must be an accepted participant in the REL Universal Strand training.
- Early childhood educators (ECE) completing courses in focal topics related to trauma informed care, infants and toddlers, dual language learners, emergent and early literacy, and serving children with special needs. ECEs’ seeking a stipend must be currently employed a minimum of 20 hours per week with a birth through pre-k population or in an after-school program for a minimum of 520 hours per year. The ECEs must complete the OEL courses/events for professional development established through the OEL for Early Childhood Educators Professional Development. This list is available by contacting PAEC. Each participant can receive up to three (3) stipends.
- Early learning coalition (ELC) staff identified as certified community of practice (CoP) facilitators completing professional development. ELC staff applying for a stipend must be employed with an early learning coalition and be a certified CoP facilitator. Each participant can receive one (1) stipend.
- ELC staff who are seeking the Florida Infant Mental Health Endorsement (FIMH-E®) through the Florida Association for Infant Mental Health (FAIMH). ELC staff applying for a stipend must be employed with an early learning coalition and seeking endorsement through FAIMH.
PAEC will be the lead organization to collect applicant information and process stipends. Applications must be submitted to PAEC prior to completion of courses to be counted for a stipend.
